Overview

Spiti Valley Motorbike Tour with Chandrataal Lake is an extreme Himalayan riding adventure crafted for thrill seekers who want experiences beyond a typical motorcycle trip. Ride through the rugged landscapes of Kinnaur and Spiti on the legendary Royal Enfield Bullet, conquering high mountain passes and dramatic cold desert terrain.

This 7 nights expedition follows the iconic Hindustan–Tibet Road, taking you across breathtaking valleys, ancient Buddhist monasteries and remote Himalayan villages. Explore Narkanda, Sangla, Chitkul, Kalpa, Nako, Tabo, Dhankar, Kaza and the high-altitude villages of Hikkim, Komic and Kibber.

Ride across the mighty Kunzum Pass (4,551 m), camp under the stars at the magical Chandrataal Lake, and continue towards Manali, Tirthan Valley, Jibhi and Jalori Pass before concluding the journey back at Shimla.

This adventure blends extreme riding, cultural encounters, monastery visits, camping, bonfires and high-altitude exploration, making it one of the most thrilling motorbike circuits in the Indian Himalayas.

Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrival in Shimla & Acclimatization Ride to Narkanda
  • Arrival in Shimla via overnight Volvo from Delhi / Chandigarh and meet the team.
  • Transfer to hotel, freshen up and group introduction over breakfast.
  • Short familiarization ride to Narkanda (70 kms).
  • Ride through Kufri, Fagu, Theog and Matiana villages.
  • Visit Hattu Peak (3,400 m) for panoramic Himalayan views.
  • Evening bike check and adjustments by mechanic.
  • Overnight stay in homestay at Narkanda with bonfire
  • Meals Plan: Dinner included
Day 2 : Ride through Baspa Valley to Chitkul
  • Ride from Narkanda to Sangla – Chitkul (182 kms / 8 hrs).
  • Ride along Sutlej River and reach Karchham.
  • Enter Baspa Valley with scenic mountain roads and river views.
  • Continue ride to Sangla and further to Chitkul.
  • Explore Chitkul – last Indian village near Indo-Tibet border.
  • Overnight stay in Chitkul / Rakcham (hotel or camps)

Day 3 : Ride to Nako via Kalpa
  • Ride from Chitkul / Rakcham to Kalpa and Nako (160 kms).
  • Visit Roghi (Suicide Point) and enjoy Kinner Kailash views.
  • Stop at Reckong Peo for essentials and lunch.
  • Ride through Spillow, Puh and Khab (Sutlej-Spiti confluence).
  • Arrive Nako and explore Nako Lake and village.
  • Overnight stay in Nako

Day 4 : Enter Spiti Valley & Ride to Kaza
  • Ride from Nako to Kaza (155 kms).
  • Enter Spiti Valley at Sumdo check post.
  • Visit Gue village to see the ancient mummy of Sangha Tenzin.
  • Visit Tabo Monastery (996 A.D.).
  • Explore Dhankar Monastery and valley views.
  • Ride through Pin Valley and visit Kungri Monastery.
  • Continue ride to Kaza.
  • Overnight stay in Kaza (hotel / camps)

Day 5 : High Altitude Village Exploration Ride
  • Full day ride around Kaza (80 kms).
  • Visit Hikkim – world’s highest post office.
  • Ride to Komic – highest motorable village.
  • Explore Langza and Buddha statue viewpoints.
  • Visit Key Monastery – largest in Spiti.
  • Explore Kibber and Chicham with suspension bridge.
  • Return to Kaza by evening with bonfire and music.
  • Overnight stay in Kaza

Day 6 : Ride to Chandratal via Kunzum Pass
  • Ride from Kaza to Chandratal Lake (105 kms).
  • Cross Kunzum Pass (4,551 m) with glacier views.
  • Visit Kunzum Mata Temple for blessings.
  • Arrive Chandratal and short walk to the lake.
  • Explore the “Moon Lake” and enjoy serene surroundings.
  • Overnight stay in fixed camps at Chandratal

Day 7 : Ride to Manali via Atal Tunnel
  • Ride from Chandratal to Manali (110 kms).
  • Pass through Batal, Chatru and Khoksar.
  • Ride through Atal Tunnel (world’s longest high-altitude tunnel).
  • Arrive Manali and check-in at hotel.
  • Evening free to explore Old Manali and Mall Road.
  • Overnight stay in Manali with bonfire

Day 8 : Scenic Ride to Shimla via Jalori Pass
  • Ride from Manali to Shimla (240 kms).
  • Drive through Tirthan Valley and Great Himalayan National Park region.
  • Pass through Banjar, Jibhi, Shoja and Jalori Pass (3,140 m).
  • Arrive Shimla by evening.
  • Transfer to Volvo stand for onward journey to Delhi.
  • End of tour with unforgettable biking memories.

  • Accommodation on a Double / Triple sharing basis in selected hotels / homestays.
  • Experienced mechanic available throughout the journey from Day 1 to Day 8 for technical support and assistance.
