Your journey begins in Leh, the cultural capital of Ladakh, and continues across legendary mountain roads including Khardung La Pass and the world-famous Umling La Pass, the highest motorable road on Earth.

Explore the sand dunes of Nubra Valley, visit the historic border village of Turtuk, and witness the ever-changing blue shades of Pangong Lake. Experience the untouched beauty of Hanle, home to the Indian Astronomical Observatory and one of the best stargazing destinations in India.

The journey further takes you to Korzok village near the serene Tsomoriri Lake, where you encounter the nomadic Changpa community and the raw beauty of Ladakh’s high-altitude wetlands including Tsokar Lake.

Ancient monasteries such as Thiksey Monastery and Diskit Monastery add a spiritual dimension to this adventure. Throughout the expedition, you may also spot Himalayan marmots, Kiang (Tibetan wild ass), and rare migratory birds.

Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrival in Leh | Acclimatization & Local Orientation

Arrival at Leh Airport (3,500 m) followed by warm welcome and transfer to your hotel in Leh.
Check-in and complete rest for acclimatization to high altitude before beginning your Ladakh adventure.
Afternoon visit to Leh Palace and Shanti Stupa for panoramic views, followed by an orientation walk in Leh Market to experience local culture.
Inner Line Permits arranged by our team (original ID required for processing).
Overnight stay at hotel in Leh.

Day 2 : Indus & Sham Valley Sightseeing

Morning excursion to Hall of Fame (Indian Army Museum) and Gurudwara Pathar Sahib.
Experience the gravity-defying Magnetic Hill and witness the spectacular Indus–Zanskar Confluence at Sangam (rafting optional on direct payment).
Visit the ancient monasteries of Likir and Alchi, known for their Indo-Himalayan art and heritage.
Evening free to explore Leh Market for souvenirs and local handicrafts.

Day 3 : Leh to Nubra Valley via Khardung La (125 kms / approx. 5 hrs)

Drive over Khardung La Pass (5,359 m), one of the highest motorable roads in the world, with scenic photo stops.
Visit Diskit Monastery and the majestic Maitreya Buddha Statue overlooking Nubra Valley.
Explore Hunder Sand Dunes and enjoy an optional double-humped Bactrian camel ride.
Cultural touch with traditional Ladakhi dance performance (subject to availability).

Day 4 : Nubra Valley Excursion (Turtuk / Panamik Option)

Full-day excursion to Turtuk Village, the last Indian village near the Pakistan border, known for Balti culture and apricot orchards.
Scenic drive along Shyok River with beautiful mountain landscapes.
OR optional visit to Sumur Monastery and Panamik Hot Springs for a relaxed day experience.
Evening at leisure to relax amidst the desert landscapes of Nubra.

Day 5 : Nubra to Pangong Lake via Shyok Route (240 kms / approx. 5.5 hrs)

Scenic drive via Shyok River route with multiple photo and comfort stops (chance to spot marmots).
Arrival at Pangong Lake (4,350 m) – one of the highest saltwater lakes in the world.
Visit 3 Idiots shooting point and Spangmik Viewpoint for breathtaking lake views.
Evening walk along the lake to witness the magical sunset over changing shades of blue.
Overnight stay at hotel / camp / hut in Pangong Lake.

Day 6 : Pangong Lake to Hanle (220 kms / approx. 6 hrs)

Morning leisure walk near Pangong Lake before departure.
Drive via Merak, Chushul and Loma through remote high-altitude desert landscapes.
Arrival at Hanle, home to India’s first Dark Sky Reserve and one of the world’s highest observatories.
Night stargazing experience under clear skies (weather permitting).
Overnight stay at hotel in Hanle.

Day 7 : Umling La Pass Excursion & Drive to Korzok (Tsomoriri)

Excursion to Umling La Pass (5,793 m), the world’s highest motorable road, via Nurbu La.
Visit Demchok Village (last Indian village near China border – for Indian nationals only).
Scenic drive through Nyoma, Mahe Bridge and Sumdo with a photo stop at Kyagar Tso Lake.
Arrival at Korzok Village on the shores of Tsomoriri Lake; evening at leisure.
Overnight stay at homestay in Korzok.

Day 8 : Tsomoriri to Leh via Tsokar & Tanglang La

Morning exploration of Tsomoriri Lake and Korzok Village with scenic viewpoints.
Drive via Puga Valley and Tsokar Lake, known for wildlife and salt deposits.
Cross Tanglang La Pass (5,328 m), one of the highest passes on Leh–Manali highway.
Visit Thiksey Monastery and Shey Palace enroute to Leh. Arrival in Leh; free time for last-minute shopping.
