Drive across the majestic Kunzum Pass (4,551 m) and stay in Kaza, the heart of Spiti Valley. From here, explore some of the world’s highest inhabited villages including Hikkim, Komic and Langza, along with the ancient Key Monastery, Kibber Village and the spectacular Chicham Suspension Bridge.

Visit the dramatic cliff-top settlement of Dhankar and enjoy an optional trek to the serene Dhankar Lake. Drive through the scenic Pin Valley and explore monasteries like Kungri and Tabo, showcasing rich Tibetan Buddhist heritage.

The final highlight of this tour is an overnight stay in fixed camps at the magical Chandrataal Lake, where star gazing under crystal-clear Himalayan skies becomes an unforgettable experience before returning to Manali.

Itinerary

Day 1 : Manali to Kaza via Atal Tunnel, Kunzum Pass & Lahaul Valley

Arrival at Manali where our driver will meet you and begin the scenic journey towards Spiti Valley.
Drive through the famous Atal Tunnel (9.02 km), the world’s longest highway tunnel above 10,000 ft, entering the beautiful landscapes of Lahaul Valley.
Continue the adventurous Himalayan drive via Gramphoo, Batal and several mountain streams with photo and comfort breaks along the way.
Cross the spectacular Kunzum Pass (4,551 m), the gateway to Spiti Valley, offering magnificent views of Himalayan glaciers and the CB mountain range.
Visit the sacred Kunzum Mata Temple where travelers traditionally stop to pray for a safe journey before entering Spiti.
Continue the drive via Losar village and arrive at Kaza, the sub-divisional headquarters of Spiti Valley.

Day 2 : Kaza Sightseeing | Hikkim – Komic – Langza – Key – Kibber – Chicham

After breakfast depart for a full day exploration of the high-altitude villages and monasteries around Kaza.
Visit Hikkim Village (4,400 m), home to the world’s highest post office where you can send postcards to family and friends.
Continue to Komic Village (4,587 m), one of the world’s highest motorable villages, and visit the historic Komic Monastery.
Drive to Langza Village, known for its giant Buddha statue overlooking the Himalayas and famous fossil-rich terrain.
Visit the impressive Key Monastery, the largest monastery in Spiti Valley, perched dramatically on a hill.
Explore Kibber Village within the Kibber Wildlife Sanctuary with chances to spot Himalayan blue sheep and snow ibex.
Visit Chicham Village and cross the spectacular Chicham Suspension Bridge spanning a deep gorge.
Return to Kaza by evening (optional homestay experience available in Chicham village).

Day 3 : Kaza to Dhankar via Pin Valley & Tabo

After breakfast check out and begin the scenic drive towards Dhankar village.
Visit Pin Valley, known for Pin Valley National Park which is home to rare Himalayan wildlife.
Explore Kungri Monastery and continue to Mudh Village, the last inhabited village of Pin Valley (subject to road conditions).
Visit the ancient Tabo Monastery (996 AD), one of the oldest continuously functioning Buddhist monasteries in the world.
Continue the drive to Dhankar Village, dramatically located on a hilltop overlooking the Spiti and Pin river confluence.

Day 4 : Dhankar to Chandrataal Lake via Kunzum Pass

After breakfast visit Dhankar Fort, Dhankar Monastery and enjoy panoramic views of the Spiti Valley.
Optional short trek to Dhankar Lake for breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains.
Continue the journey through Losar and cross Kunzum Pass once again while heading towards Chandrataal.
Arrive at Chandrataal Lake (4,270 m) and check into fixed tented camps near the lake.
Walk to the beautiful Chandrataal Lake also known as the “Moon Lake” surrounded by rugged Himalayan peaks.
Enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and spectacular sunset views around the lake.

Day 5 : Chandrataal to Manali via Rohtang Pass & Solang Valley

After breakfast depart from Chandrataal Lake and begin the scenic drive back to Manali.
Drive via Batal, Chatru and Khoksar through dramatic mountain landscapes.
Cross the famous Rohtang Pass (3,980 m), offering spectacular views of the Pir Panjal mountain range.
Visit Solang Valley before arriving in Manali by late afternoon.
Free time to stroll through Mall Road for shopping and local experiences.
Transfer to Manali Volvo bus station for your overnight journey to New Delhi.
